Doctor's Assessment Included
Every result includes a professional assessment from a BIG-registered doctor. For treatment decisions, discuss your results with your GP.
Urine pH
Urine pH describes how acidic or alkaline your urine is. It naturally varies through the day with diet, hydration and other factors, and usually falls between roughly 4.5 and 8.0.
Reference Ranges
Reference ranges may vary between laboratories. When you order a test, a BIG-registered doctor assesses your personal results in context. For treatment decisions, discuss your results with your GP.
What It Measures
This part of the dipstick measures the acidity of your urine. On its own a single value tells little, but persistent extremes can be relevant to kidney stones or certain metabolic conditions and are read together with the rest of the panel.
Lifestyle Tips
Diet has a strong influence on urine pH: lots of fruit and vegetables tends to make it more alkaline, while a meat-rich diet tends to make it more acidic. Adequate hydration helps keep values stable.
