An AMH of 1.2 is low if you are 25 and entirely normal if you are 42. Without your age, the number cannot be read at all. That is why we ask for it.

Important: on the pill your AMH runs about 30% below your true value, and it recovers after you stop. Your result therefore probably underestimates your ovarian reserve.
A lower AMH when you are not currently trying to conceive is usually not a reason to act. It does not mean you are infertile, and it is not a reason to change your plans. If you want to talk it through, do that with your doctor rather than on the basis of this single number.
A raised AMH is often seen in PCOS. That is not a diagnosis — PCOS needs more than a blood value — but it is worth discussing with your doctor, particularly if your cycle is irregular.

What AMH does and does not tell you
AMH is a good predictor of how your ovaries respond to stimulation in IVF: how many eggs to expect. That is what the test is validated for, and there it is genuinely useful.
AMH says little or nothing about your chance of conceiving naturally if you do not have fertility problems. It is not a countdown clock and it does not tell you "how long you have left". You will find tools that imply otherwise. We do not, because it is not true.
AMH is also not reliable enough at an individual level to say anything meaningful about when you will reach the menopause.
